First Saturday in Lent

Today, Saturday, our RCIA class goes to the diocese’s Holy Spirit Catholic Church of all the churches, so I am feeling blessed to go with my sponsors. I wanted to post last Tuesday’s event of Fat Tuesday, and wrote something about Ash Wednesday and St. Valentine’s Day, but I tapped the upper left “x” and it deleted. [That really upset me, but that’s what happens when self-hosting my own blog–so I bit the bullet.] So sorry! (Please forgive me)

I am learning to take responsibility for my actions with respect for the privilege of still having a blog to write. This is keeping my mind active, and my heart listening to my conscience’s God-channel. Prayer is key. Above is my prayer station. I am also blessed with such a comfortable bedroom-office. . .(but this is not supposed to be about me). Mother Mary is in here too:

Mother is present at my rosary prayer station to bless me with a gentle assurance.

Can I not have a powerfully growing ministry of prayer since becoming Catholic? Since I am losing my transportation—my astuteness has slipped and I agree with spouse that I am not a safe driver. Church online, and prayer time discipline of two hours and 24 minutes (tithing of 24 hours) has been working and enables me to do multiple duties around the house (thanking God continually).

I have been hearing from God to write my autobiography. This may develop into a novel with characters and their dialogue. Similar to last Christmas’ blog post, I changed all the names of our small family to resemble bible characters. That was successful enough to get a positive response from our main family sponsor.

I just heard that it can have my favorite song attached: even to be the title:

God rest you merry gentlemen,

Let nothing you dismay;

Remember Christ our Savior

Was born on Christmas Day;

To save us all from Satan’s power,

As we have gone astray;

O-oh tidings of comfort and joy,

Comfortand joy,

O-oh tidings of comfort and joy.”

No, we can’t use that song title (as it is copyrighted), so, the words can be made Jewish with the character names taken from public domain. Is this good to you? It can work for me—we’ll just play it by ear. Hopefully the storyline of my life won’t conflict or take away from actual scripture, since the point of writing this is to use my events as an illustration for readers to be motivated to check in the bible how actually does the truth parallel my life.

My story must parallel human history: What came first? That’s not hard, but how we got here, may be of interest to family readers. [Even if my book manuscript can be published cheaply, and it can help one family member be moved toward their redemption, my life will have been worth living…legacy worth telling.

A simple character with common features we can relate to, and his or her holy name, (ever notice how many people are named after saints?). I can do that, even with my new patron saint, Anselm of Canterbury.

So, this article will be the last for a while, as I am hearing I can have fifty days to write such an original (novel) autobiography. We can do it, with your prayers and God’s help.

Oh, bye the bye, that first Saturday of Lent, my sponsor did remarkably introduce me to our bishop, a very personable leader in our diocese. I was led to share with him how I was baptized some 55 years ago. That made an impression because I was not able to find any documentation of it.

So, following the election service, where each of us were anointed by him, we walked by him seated with our pastor, Bishop Robert Baker pulled me gently aside to remark how I might require a provisional baptism. The pastor agreed, and we all agreed. Anyway, I was told not to worry, it will happen.(That was February 17.)

It happened as a pleasant surprise to me that on my birthday, March 28, during the vigil practice, I was called to stand and have my baptism before the class and all their families—it was as public as could be. Everyone applauded and accepted the provisional baptism. [My full communion certificate indicated the correct original date of Mother’s Day 1962.]

The week before, I was quick to be in line for my first confession. I was quickly absolved of all 105 sins I listed according to a website called, guide to good confession (nationalcatholicregister.com)

I felt really good for having prepared to mention the most guilt-laden sins first, and in 10-minutes, 55-years of sins were gone. PTL!

We praise Almighty God for his merciful lovingkindness. He has blessed us with his everlasting grace! I have obeyed God leading me to his true family…as well as the recalling my catholic family heritage, for every one who will follow me. (Thank You!)

Holy Wind

(Stained glass image taken from an apse of the St Peter’s Basilica by Gian Lorenzo Bernini circa 1660, Wikipedia)

Last night I feel like I was given a treat. The Fox Movie Channel was showing GRAVITY back to back. Have you seen it? It’s the full length cinema staring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney that I had not seen. What a marvelous story!

What can such a film and our study of prayer have to do with that? Well, without giving away anything of the plot, let me just say, Science Specialist Dr. Ryan Stone, admitted she never was told how to pray, but when back, she whispered, Thank you!

According to theologian Rudolf Bultmann, “There are two ways to think about the Holy Spirit: ‘animistic’ and ‘dynamistic’. In animistic thinking, it is ‘an independent agent, a personal power which like a demon can fall upon a man and take possession of him, enabling him or compelling him to perform manifestations of power’ while in dynamistic thought it ‘appears as an impersonal force which fills a man or woman like a fluid’. Both kinds of thought appear in Jewish and Christian scripture, but animistic is more typical of the Old Testament whereas dynamistic is more common in the New Testament. The distinction coincides with the Holy Spirit as either a temporary or permanent gift. In the Old Testament and Jewish thought, it is primarily temporary with a specific situation or task in mind, whereas in the Christian concept the gift resides in man permanently.”(From ‘Jesus and the Word’, London, 1952)

Prayer then, is sincere Holy-Spirit conscience giving place and showing detracting or revealing thoughts that draw or repell awareness of His presence. We learn by practice. And eventually we catch on. Our space capsule is the Church.

OVERCOMING IMPOSSIBLE DEMANDS – Youth granted wisdom to be saved. (8-26-16)

Imagine, we are alone somewhere orbiting the earth, in the Russian Soyuz capsule, going 17,000 MPH, some 250 miles up. Having had only 2 weeks training with reentry, and are about to panic. A simple whisper about never learning prayer brought help.

TEAM PRAYER – Social media church. (8-31-16)

The lost mission commander, George Clooney, appeared at the hatch, tapping to come in. He is allowed in with nonchalant instructions that comforted as well as motivated.  As if an angelic visitation, he is gone. The mystery enables the glorious climax.

ETERNAL REST‘ – Video. (9-19-16)

She swims to the shore, kisses the mud, says Thank you, and slowly stands up. Oh, the wonderful firmament of earth’s gravity! Having been even months without it, the mere effort of standing up is a struggle — we get this, but she prayed! (Thank You)

WORLDVIEW TWEEK – Our nation’s future depends on this. (10-2-16)

After the movie, the news media had to wow me with its stupid sexual allegations . . . and now our helpmate called a meeting about the family plans for Thanksgiving, which thankfully won’t include us. And that is a worldview tweek we are okay with.

CONTEMPLATING AMERICA – How to pray for America. (10-10-16)

Fall weather is stimulating. It’s quiet, it’s cool, and the stress from neighbors is relaxed (with leaves all over the bad looking grass, the yard is peaceful). Our focus is on spring cleaning — the fall weather is permitting us to so struggle gently here.

I have given the national news a break. Only our loving Father can be trusted. All our prayers prayed, we can now trust heaven to come down. All of the above titles represent the most recent posts from my other, older website. Prayer is the theme.

How can we ultimately discern the truth? Only Jesus said how. He, himself is Truth. And his word is true Covenant. Can we learn the truth? Yes, by dedicating ourself to him and his agency, the Church. The Church, having both Scriptures and tradition, is the believer’s authority. (Jn 14:6; Is 46:19; 65:16; Jn 5:39, 40)

Prayer then, is sincere Holy-Spirit conscience giving place and showing detracting or revealing thoughts that draw or repell awareness of God’s presence. We learn by practice. And eventually we catch on. Our space capsule is the Church . . . put yourself in Dr. Ryan Stone’s place. (This may be easier for some, if not all.)

But relate to God in even the most distant way . . . he is still right there for you. Just greet him. Your heart will catch his present closeness . . . stop denying him. Accept Him and seek his benefits for you: love, joy, peace is yours in him. Just believe, just trust. You can have his personal revelation even now.

Expanded Daily Prayer for Freedom

A mystical still life captured of our home’s Entry by Vivian

“Why a long version? Over the years we have come to learn a great deal about prayer and spiritual warfare. Frankly, the prayers of our youth have not proved sufficient for the trials of a more mature believer advancing the Kingdom of God. This longer version reflects the kind of prayer needed in times of intense ministry or times of great pressure and attack. Frankly, it just has more firepower. Try it—you’ll see.” Said author and pastor John Eldredge. (Scripture footnotes added, with “crucifix” and “queen mother and bride” authority included for catholic (universal) theology.)

“My dear Lord Jesus, I come to You now to be restored[1] in You, renewed in You, to receive from You all the grace and mercy I so desperately need this day. I honor You as my Sovereign, and I surrender every aspect and dimension of my life totally and completely to You. I give to You my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will. I cover myself with Your blood[2]—my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will. I ask Holy Spirit to restore me in You, renew me in You, and lead me in this time of prayer. In all that I now pray, I stand in absolute agreement with Your Spirit and with my intercessors and allies, by Your Spirit and by Your Spirit alone.

“Dearest God, holy and victorious Trinity, You alone are worthy of all my worship, my heart’s devotion, all my praise, all my trust, and all the glory of my life. I love You, I worship You, I give myself over to You in my heart’s search for life. You alone are Life, and You have become my life. I renounce all other gods, every idol, and I give to You the place in my heart and in my life that You truly deserve. This is all about You, God, and not about me; You are the Hero of this story, and I belong to You. I ask Your forgiveness for my every sin. I renounce my sins. I ask You to search me and know me and reveal to me where You are working in my life and grant to me the grace of your healing, deliverance, your holiness, and a deep and true repentance.

“Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me and choosing me before You made the world[3]. You are my true Father—my creator, redeemer, sustainer, and the true end of all things, including my life. I love You, I trust You, I worship You. I give myself over to You, Father, to be one with You in everything as Jesus is one with You. Thank You for proving Your love by sending Your only Son Jesus to be my substitute and representative[4], to be my Rock. I receive Him and all His life and all His work which You ordained for me[5]. Thank You for including me in Christ[6], for forgiving me my sins[7], for granting me His righteousness[8], for making me complete in Him[9].

“Thank you for making me alive with Christ[10], raising me with Him[11], seating me with Him at your right hand[12], establishing me in His authority[13], and anointing me with Your love[14], Your Spirit, and Your kingdom (His Queen Mother and His Bride). I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will. I bring the life and work of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life today, over my home, my family, my household, throughout my earthly kingdom, domain and ministry.

“Jesus, thank You for coming to ransom me with Your own life[15], I love you, I worship You, I give myself over to You to be one with You in all things—spirit, soul, and body, heart, mind, and will. I sincerely embrace[16] You as my redemption, and all the work and triumph in Your cross, death, blood[17], and sacrifice (Crucifix), through which my every sin is atoned for, I am ransomed and delivered from the kingdom of darkness and transferred to Your Kingdom of light, my sin nature is removed[18], my heart is circumcised unto God[19], and every claim being made against me is disarmed[20] this day.

“I now take my place in Your stripes, death, and cross (Crucifix), dying with You to sin, to my flesh[21], to this world[22], to the evil one[23], and his evil kingdom. I take up the Crucifix and crucify my flesh with all its pride, arrogance, unbelief, and idolatry [and anything else you are currently struggling with]. I put off the old man[24]. Apply to me all the work in Your cross, death, blood, and sacrifice (Crucifix). I receive it with thanks and give it total claim to my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will.

“I bring the blood and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life today, over my home, my family, my household, my vehicles, finances, over all my kingdom, domain and ministry. I bring the cross, death, blood, and sacrifice (Crucifix) of Jesus Christ against Satan, against his evil kingdom, against every foul and unclean (demonic) spirit, every foul power and black art, against every witch, and against every human being and their godless spirit, their warfare and household. I bring the cross, death, blood, and sacrifice (Crucifix) of the Lord Jesus Christ to the borders of my kingdom, domain, and ministry, and I stake it there in the name of Jesus Christ.

“Crucifix” with sign saying in Latin, JESUS OF NAZARETH KING OF THE JEWS

“Jesus, I also sincerely receive You as my Life[25], and I receive all the work and triumph in Your resurrection, through which You have conquered sin, death, judgment, and the evil one. Death has no power over You, nor does any foul thing. And I have been raised with You to a new life, to live Your life—dead to sin and alive to God[26]. I am crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me[27].

I take my place now in Your resurrection and in Your life[28], and I give my life to You to live Your life. I am saved by Your life. I reign in life through Your life[29]. I now put on the new man[30] in all holiness and humility! in all righteousness, purity and truth. Christ is now my life[31], the One who strengthens me[32]. I receive Your hope, love, faith, joy, Your goodness, trueness, wisdom, power, and strength. Holy Spirit apply to me all the work and triumph of the resurrection of Jesus Christ for me. I receive it with thanks and I give it total claim to my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will.

“I bring the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life today, over my home, my family, my household, my vehicles, finances, over all my kingdom, domain and ministry. I bring the resurrection and the empty tomb of Jesus Christ against Satan[33], against his evil kingdom, against every foul and unclean (demonic) spirit, every foul power and black art, against every witch, and against every human being and their godless spirit, their warfare, and household. I bring the resurrection and the empty tomb of the Lord Jesus Christ to the borders of my kingdom, domain, and ministry; I stake it there in Jesus’ name.

“Jesus, I also sincerely receive You as my authority, ruler, and dominion, my everlasting victory against Satan and his evil kingdom, and my ability to bring Your Kingdom (sacraments) at all times and in every way. I receive all the work and triumph in Your ascension, through which Satan has been judged and cast down[33], his evil rulers principalities disarmed[34]; and all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to You, Jesus[35]. And I have been given fullness in You the head over all[36]; You are worthy to receive all glory and honor, power and dominion, now and forever.

“I take my place now in Your authority and in Your throne, through which I have been raised with You to the right hand of the Father and established in Your authority[37]. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world[38]. Christ has given me power and authority to overcome the enemy, and I claim that authority, now, standing in place over, above, and against every enemy, and I banish them in the name of Jesus Christ[39]. I give myself to You, to reign with You always. Apply to me all the work and triumph in Your authority and Your throne; I receive it with thanks, and I give it total claim to my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will.

“I now bring the authority, rule, and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life today, over my home, my family, my household, my vehicles, finances, over all my kingdom, domain and ministry. I now bring the authority, rule, and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ against Satan, against his evil kingdom, against every foul and unclean (demonic) spirit—every ruler, power, authority, and spiritual force of wickedness, their every weapon, claim, and device.

“[At this point, I specifically name all foul and unclean (demonic) spirits that I know have been attacking me, such as fear, doubt, accident, injury, death, the religious spirit, pride, arrogance, slothfulness, gluttony, and greed, etc.]

“I send all foul and unclean (demonic) spirits bound to the throne of Christ, together with every back-up and replacement, every weapon, claim, and device—by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ and in His name. I command the judgment of the Lord Jesus Christ upon the heads of those that refuse to obey, and I send them to judgment; by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Queen Mother, and His Bride, and in His name.

“I now bring the authority, rule, and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ against every foul power and black art—every hex, vex, and incantation, every spell, weave, web, veil, shroud, charm, and snare; against every ritual, sacrifice, and device; against every vow, dedication, and sacrifice, every word, judgment, and curse—written, spoken, unspoken, or transferred to me. I command them disarmed and broken by the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, His Queen Mother, and His Bride, and in His name.

“I now bring the authority, rule, and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ against every witch, cult, and coven, every channel of black arts to me. I cut them off in the name of the Lord; I send the glory of God to them to turn them in Jesus’ name.

“I now bring the authority, rule, and dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ and the fullness of the work of Christ between me and every human being—their godless spirit, soul, body, their sin, warfare, and their household. I bring the full work of Christ between me and [now I name people I’ve counseled or prayed for, family members, folks in crisis looking to me, etc.]. I command their human spirits bound back to their bodies and their warfare bound to the throne of Christ in their life. I bring the full work of Christ between me and my household and all people; in the authority of Jesus Christ, His Queen Mother and His Bride, and in His name.

“Holy Spirit, thank you for coming for me today. I love You, I worship You, I trust You. I honor You as Lord.  I sincerely embrace You, become my union with the Father and the Son, the Spirit of Truth in me, the life of God in me, my Counselor, Comforter, Strength, Helper and Guide[40]. You have clothed me with power from on high, sealed me in Christ[41]. Restore my union with the Father and the Son. Lead me into all truth, anoint me for all of my life and walk and calling, and lead me deeper into Jesus today[42]. I honor You as Lord, and I fully give to You every aspect and dimension of my spirit, soul, and body, my heart, mind, and will—to be filled with You, to walk in step with You in all things[43]. I receive all the work and triumph in Pentecost[44] through which You have come. Fill me afresh, blessed Holy Spirit. I receive You with thanks, and give You total claim to my life.

“Heavenly Father, thank you for granting to me every spiritual blessing of the heavenlies in Christ Jesus[45]. I claim the riches in Christ Jesus over my life today, over my home, my family, my work, over all of my kingdom and domain. I bring the blood of Christ once more over my spirit, soul, and body, over my heart, mind, and will. I put on the full armor of God: the belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of the gospel, helmet of salvation; I take up the shield of faith and sword of the Spirit, and I choose to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of Your might[46], to pray at all times in the Spirit.

“Jesus, thank you for Your angels. I summon them in the name of Jesus Christ and instruct them to destroy all that is raised against me, to establish Your Kingdom, Queen Mother and Your Bride; to rebuild the shields and hedges of protection around me and my household, and to minister to me Your ministry[47]. I ask you to send forth Your Spirit to raise up prayer and intercession for me[48]. I now call forth the Kingdom of the Lord Jesus Christ throughout my home, my household, my kingdom, domain and ministry, in the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ, with all wisdom and power, worship and glory, honor and riches, praise and dominion, and blessing and thanks be to Him; for ever and ever and ever, amen and amen.

THE BIG PICTURE: The unholy tradition of Christmas

THE BIG PICTURE: The unholy tradition of Christmas

(Sinterclaas or Saint Nicholas, considered by many to be the original Santa, 2007, Nederlands, by Gaby Kooiman, Wikipedia)

The present confusion of the Middle East is the enemy at work increasing it. There are imbalances: No one knows the truth. Dark forces are unleashed. Even our own lives and our security is threatened for us here at home — and Christmas is included!

“God has the power to walk on what we are about to drown in! Each test of God puts us through — what we have learned is present to be used — deductively — so that what we have been through, God provides for us to use for where we are going!”

[That was Bishop Jakes from tonight’s The Potter’s Touch television broadcast on TBN.]

Here is today’s study: The History of Christmas by Rabbi Lawrence Kelemen taken from his simpletoremember.com website which is linked here to confirm what I will be reporting. We can learn from such history in the world and confirm it even further.

Truly, let me remind you of the ugly roots of Christmas traditions formed by worldly powers: The date of Jesus’ birth. The origins of the Christmas tree; Mistletoe, Presents, Santa Clause, and the Christmas challenge:

“All modern incarnations of the most depraved pagan rituals ever practiced on earth.” Rabbi Kelemen said.

(Map of countries where Christmas is not a formal public holiday either on December 24/25 or on January 6/7. Wikipedia)

Today, I was notified that I am having an anniversary with WordPress.com; publishing my blog-posts now for four years. I have lost track of the time! Over all that time, I have written three stories (novels), that make up Levonah’s adventures with Yeshua (Jesus).

Also for the past two years, the blog posts of theology401 were completed. Now, we, Beloved Holy Spirit and I, are putting together this ‘Promised Soil’ edition. (I am only qualified to attempt this by his leading and my trusting that I hear his directions.)

It was Fr. Robert Spitzer who said in his series of Virtue, Freedom and Faith: How we are going to prevent sin-traps. 1) Faith, trust in the Lord, release the power of virtue; 2) Love others, such love leads to empathy to want to be virtuously loving others; and 3) Love of virtue: Resist the darkness.

“The solution is to be humble-hearted, which corresponds with Jesus’ #1 beatitude. Empathy, love of God (first) and his kingdom; rejoicing with others — animated by God’s Love. When you start loving God combating pride by humble-heart is how we stay in victory.”

“Humility isn’t thinking less of yourself; but it’s thinking of yourself less.” Father Spitzer said. (This article includes a chart showing the seven deadly sins.)

If you have read my last four posts, (The mystery of godly devotion; Contemplating the Messiah’s face; The healing of Christmas; and The Immaculate Conception), you know that there is a real enemy that is hiding in the hidden realm of spiritual wickedness. That he has a brain, and can keep us hampered with his fiery trials.

Honestly, I am personally concerned for our readers. Because I am not a Catholic, doesn’t mean I am kept from the truth about God and godly things. Our study of theology has opened my eyes to teaching my own non-denominational church cannot provide.

Every morning in my personal devotional, I pray to see the big picture. What is behind the current events. What is the truth we cannot see for some reason. I have learned God can reveal such things to us. This holiday is the point in question.

(A Typical Neapolitan nativity scene in Naples Italy, local crèches are renowned for their ornate decorations and symbolic figurines often mirroring daily life. By Juan Quintas, 2008, Wikipedia.)

Avoid the dangers of Christmas’ worldly traditions. According to the world (Cosmos), where the enemy resides because he is the “Prince of the power of the air” (Eph.2:2) Biblically, our lives are subject to his curse unless we have the True God in our life.

A good example is made with our own family this past year. (I gladly risk being chastised for telling this, but if it can help one person see the light through the darkness, it is a risk worth taking.) We lost our second son this year. He had lymphoma cancer.

We brought him up along with an older brother and a younger sister. We did the best to bring them all up in the admonition of the Lord Jesus (Yeshua) Christ (Messiah) in a Charismatic fellowship and school. He went on to earn his bachelors in computer science engineering, and later earned another in teaching math.

He taught high school math locally, for one year, and dropped it to return to the company he had partnered to develop locally. Then his marriage fell apart. He divorced, sharing custody of two lovely children. Then cancer attacked.

He told his mother and me that the math students could not even try to catch his gift for teaching. This told him, God was not leading him to do that. He said he didn’t love his hard-working wife, and asked her to leave. This told us how he failed to join the local Baptist church where his talented wife played in the orchestra and daughter sang in the children’s choir. And lastly, his work, his company, put him on the front line of research and development to help create software and hardware in cutting-edge, brain-waves technology.

The stress, anxiety, and fear he must have suffered put him as a prime candidate for cancer, and it hit him hard. We were kept away from him. He wanted to do this on his own. He committed several deadly sins. He was a good man, but not smart enough to defeat the enemy. The enemy wants to attack any good man, especially when he ignores the family’s example to seek godly help. Instead he chose the false god of healing, the mythical god of medicine and healing named Asclepius. And he’s gone to heaven.

Our son died precisely on the midnight marking the beginning of his 46th birthday. This was remarkable to all family members. We all asked why God? And we have been given the knowledge of the wisdom of following Him, and following closely.

We can decide and commit to our church fellowship; learn the truth, and apply it religiously to our lives; and pray for mercy and that God become our hedge of protection with angels encamped around about us. This is our only hope.

Proverbs 26:2, “As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.”

Can we good people get this message? If there is error in actually observing this holiday in an unholy, sentimental, and misguided way — we stand to be cursed. I didn’t say this, the Bible says this. The Bible is true, the last post made that clear.

Please learn the above linked material of the origins of Christmas! It tells how philosophy has taken mythology and incorporated it into human social tradition. It is a lie! I can’t help saying it. That is the bottom line.

(Stamps released in the United States in 1982, a painting by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Wikipedia)

How many stamps do you need to tell us you get the message? Keep Christmas pure! Go to your church fellowship. Convince yourself and others that God is very important to you. The birth of His Son may not have happened as tradition says it did, but we know it happened. And let the biblical record become a matter of your survival boat in these dark and trying times.

“The fear of the Lord is beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:7

“Do not be wise in your own eyes: fear the Lord, and depart from evil. It will be health to your flesh, and strength to your bones.” Proverbs 3:7,8

“The fear of the Lord is to hate evil; pride and arrogance, and the evil way, and the perverse mouth I hate.” Proverbs 8:13

THE HOLY MOTHER OF CHRISTMAS: The Immaculate Conception

THE HOLY MOTHER OF CHRISTMAS – The Immaculate Conception

Today, is Tuesday, which I understand is God’s most favored days – because he called his creations on the third day of the week – good not once but twice. This is why Jewish weddings are performed on Tuesdays.

But today is also the Catholic Church’s Feast of the Immaculate Conception. Which I have always believed ignorantly that that referred directly to Yeshua-Jesus’ conception. But, watching all the pomp and ceremony in Rome (EWTN) today, I learned otherwise.

The conception of Yeshua-Jesus’ mother, Miryam (Mary), with the normal process of her parents – happened through supernatural dedication, God orchestrated her ‘special conception’ to keep her from the ‘stain’ of sin upon her human soul. (Source: Catholic Encyclopedia)

Have you heard of this? (Most of my facebook followers are Evangelicals) I can accept such a doctrine because of a former post that explained Jewish Mysticism (Kabbalah) as mixed with occultism . . . also something of a revelation. Tonight I am writing to you because of reading the above encyclopedia link.

I have always been critical of the teaching of Mariology. But daily watching EWTN, I admit to hearing of miracles and visions of the Holy Mother of Christmas. Even if you have never heard this before. Today is the day you need to hear this.

Ephesians 1:3-6,11,12, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love. . .

In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.”

Now this is another seemingly impossible development, but today the Roman Catholic Church teaches that Yeshua-Jesus’ mother went to heaven without death. So she was ‘assumed’ by our Father, and that means she had no grave and no bones were ever recorded as being found. She was one special holy lady.

How do you process this? The above link is a trusted source and explains basic Mariology. But there are many other sources. Theologically this is explained not wholly by Scripture, but by the ‘tradition’ of the Church Fathers.

I have to apologize to all my friends and family (friends are more accepting than family who know me up close and personally). I am not a perfect man. I have been given grace to study theology for about 2 years, writing 60 blogs. That alone has extended my knowledge and Christian vision, beyond what I hear at church.

Knowledge of theology is ‘faith seeking understanding’ about the truth. The process of theology enables understanding of how the Scriptures came to be, as they are God’s message to his Creation: Why we should believe the Bible is Inerrant.

“Since God is the Author and Finisher of its content, if we have questions about what it says, we have to go into a study of the process of all the native languages of the books. It took 1500 years to put together. During that time, as you might prove from the original language texts; God gradually revealed himself.

So you knew what to include; what to throw out: Every book could be compared to the other, and then tested. So if God authors a book, and He is always the same, there will be a consistency from one book He authorizes to the next.

It is a lie that any group of men decide what is or is not Canon. God decides. Only God is perfect.

“‘Scholars’ often forget and mistake how the Holy Spirit can impower anyone He wants to write divine writ. So we verify everything with Him. The real God really knows His word and can prove it to you. All you need is to be positive in His system.

(It won’t happen overnight, but it will happen.) And now that you are delivered (saved), you can go to God directly. God never gives a book you cannot validate because then in effect He’d be lying — You cant demand to test something, then deny what you need for testing.” (www.brainout.net/EnochTest)

It is already time to print this. There is more to study, but the above link may answer most of your questions. I am thankful for this holy season, and want nothing but peace and revelation to penetrate your hearts, now and forever. (Please let me know what you think.)

Merry Christmas,

THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD – The healing of Christmas

Painting of Francois Boucher, ‘The Light of the World’, 1750, in Museum Beaux, Lyon, Paris, France, Wikipedia Commons

This year, we are hearing still how some in our community want to remove Yeshua-Jesus from our celebration of Christmas. I am learning how this can be true. It is the hidden power of the world, of the flesh, and sin that resists and rejects a most holy time for us. Even why terrorist attacks and unholy behavior happens and violence is called cultural extremism, but evil can’t be justified.

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. Our house got an early shot of the pageantry when the big house across the way had turned on its colorful lights, and as soon as twilight. We used to decorate, but found it more trouble and expense than we could be willing to keep up.

The specialness of Christmas-time is in the lights, yes, but the Spirit is undeniably more than visual perception. It is the seeming holiness of the time, the season, and the remembrance of the birth of the Messiah. Such an inspiring painting I have never seen before. Have you?

Yosef (Joseph), Miryam (Mary), Yeshua (Jesus), and the shepherd’s family (of course when the shepherds first came, they had to bring the families to see the spectacle). And the angels are there! A worthy find for an unusual post for all to learn something about this marvelous gift.

The glorious coming of the Messiah (Christ) child was the beginning of a ‘new thing’. The fulfillment of the prophecy, Isaiah and Jeremiah both mention it. (Is.43:19; Jer. 31:22) [Also see Fr. Robert J. Spitzer’s The Light shines on in the darkness]

The birth of our Sovereign Savior is so special it actually exceeds my ability to verbally express it. Basically, I am not as sanctified (holy) as I’d like to be; and I see the true Spirit of Christmas is lost in the unholy, material commercialism. Then just who can see Messiah’s (Christ’s) light?

I believe the Holy Bible tells us something of the light that shines on Christmas. Revelation 21:23,”The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light and the Lamb is its lamp.” (NIV)

Revelation 22:5, “There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light.”

Isaiah 60:19-21, “The sun will no more be your light by day, nor will the brightness of the moon shine on you, for the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your God will be your glory. Your sun will never set again, and your moon will wane no more; the Lord will be your everlasting light, and your days of sorrow will end. Then will all your people be righteous and they will possess the land forever.”

Obviously these texts describe the sh’khinah glory of heaven. Although heaven is real, it does not visually exist on earth today. Why this is so the Holy Bible also explains. Let me share this key text for a more complete explanation: The force of darkness hides the light of heaven.

Our text: Isaiah 14:12-18 (NIV)

Seven verses with 19 notes referencing 49 more verses to represent a very thorough and accurate study about who the enemy is and what his forces can do. 18 All the kings of the nations lie in state, each in his own tomb. (S) . . . [Footnote: Job 21:32, Yet he shall be brought to the grave, and a vigil kept over his tomb.]

Now we have a clearer view of the enemy. The devil, Satan, is real. His evil is attacking our human hearts and minds. Evil has a brain. Good men cannot outsmart evil. Why? He’s not smart enough. Still human logic can team up against him to defeat him. The church is key.

In his book, The Good Book, Reading the Bible with the Mind and Heart, Chaplain Peter J. Gomes writes about Good People and Bad Things. He makes reference to Rabbi Harold Kushner’s book, Why Good People Do Bad Things while telling some case histories himself.

“We do not know what good is, and as Pontius Pilate asked half sincerely, half sardonically of Jesus, “What is truth?”, we ask “What is good?”. . . The Bible is filled with vivid images of people caught between the knowledge of what is good, and what is evil, and the inability to avoid the easy wrong, and to affirm the difficult right.” He said.

“John Habgood says, ‘All knowledge is ambiguous.’ Such knowledge is both good and bad. The forbidden fruit tree was called, ‘knowledge of good and evil’.

“Ignorance is not why good people do bad things, and knowledge itself does not itself prevent good people from doing bad things. Good people do bad things because by themselves they are not able to manipulate their knowledge of what is good in behalf of goodness and over against what is bad.”

“We must face the fact that our knowledge and our will, even our good intentions are not sufficient to prevent the good from doing bad . . . This is a concession to the reality of evil. We have to acknowledge that the good are not in control, and are usually out-witted and out-smarted by the forces of evil that surround them on every hand. To say this plainly:”

1. Evil is real.

2. The good are not as smart as they think they are.

3. And, the good need all the help they can get; one cannot be good on one’s own.”

“Therefore, those who would be righteous, or hunger or thirst after it, are and always have been Satan’s prime targets. Notice that the first encounter Jesus had after his baptism is with Satan himself. . . Live seriously knowing this – with evil working overtime, our being virtuous is no hobby.”
Chaplain Gomes said. (used with permission)

Yeshua-Jesus teaches us that we are the light of the world. Why? Because we have the Truth. Seriously living what our bibles show us to hear, think, pray, and do; we should know enough to obediently resist the enemy, with our family church, and suffer through to our victory. God will do the rest. Trust him.

Daniel 2:34 The eternal kingdom of God, the Messianic kingdom, will extend over all the earth, and those who reject Jesus, the Messiah, the Stone, will be crushed. See also Ps 118:22, 23; Is 8:14; Matt 21:44; Luke 20:18; 1 Pet 2:4-8. (Taken from today’s daily Bible reading, 12-5-15, Biblegateway.com)

WE ARE GOD’S NATION – The proof is found in worship

“The Cloisters” by Christoffer Wilhelm Eckersberg in 1853 (Wikipedia)

Can you just feel the calm, quiet, serenity here? It is not difficult to acknowledge our supreme Author and Finisher in this creation. And this leads me into sharing yesterdays anointed post . . . Worshippers find themselves an independent nation unto themselves: Praying for ‘United Israel’.

The thought of waking up from (yester-) today’s nap was fruitful, giving me this title: Such a thought comes to a clear conscience about the very discipline of devotion and application of daily worship. So what is a day worth to you? Today was wasted if you can’t remember the important things. This is what I remember as supporting my calling and mission . . .

It was Friday night that I viewed the EWTN program the Journey Home, where Father Dave Harris was interviewed by the host, Marcus Grodi. The father explained his conversion to Roman Catholicism. He said, “One thing was difficult to learn. The Sacrement of Penance and Reconcilliation (‘confession’).”

“What about the Eucharist?” Asked Marcus. [The Lord’s Supper, Holy Communion]

“The emphasis was made more clearly to me with the quote, Jesus said, ‘This is MY body.’  The proof is in the faith and in the word, how to interpret — not as a symbol, but the tradition of discerning reality, and catholic spirituality — connecting faith and reason, the Presence was so real to me.”

Let me introduce my heartfelt passion for sharing the truth: Truth is the person of our Redeemer and Lord Jesus Christ. If we read what I think is the most practically inspiring interpretation of scripture, the Amplified Bible, we can learn to relate personally, and grow our faith. But, and this is an important but, scripture alone cannot do this. Only through the church communities, can worship be fully appreciation. The objective is simply to join physically–attending a local church community. And then helping others to do so.

Today, I am not able to be active with the local Christian fellowship that my wife and I belong with. But the extended electronic wifi broadband has provided live participation. The exciting part is that the Holy Spirit is present in the whole operation. The personal worship at home may not be the same as sitting in a pew, but the worship from my heart is still being exercised and personally acknowledged by God.

Worship is learned by baptized believers that are led into agreement about the biblical doctrine (teaching). The Reformation has enabled believers to find agreement without the religious catechism dogma. Not that it is wrong or confusing, but that it is legalism and overly structured. Open-worship may find less formal and freer communities.

I subscribe to the Bible-Gateway yearly program of the reading daily both the Old Covenant and the New Covenant [note: Testament is the same]. Today was a favorite. I am familiar with the references. And I read it slowly without being hurried, keeping a pen for noting thoughts.

After reading Jeremiah 37 through 39 about Jeremiah’s predictions of Israel’s defeat, and the only way to escape alive; the king’s response was brutal treatment of this prophet. My heart has difficulty accepting how stupidly the king is behaving without accepting God’s word.

I took no notes from the Old Covenant, but Hebrews 3 definitely spoke to me. Verse 6 said, “… But Christ (Messiah) is faithful as a Son over his [Father’s] house. And we are his house if we hold fast our confidence and our sense of triumph in our hope [in Christ].”

Verse 11, “So I swore [an oath] in my wrath, ‘they shall not enter my rest [the promised land]…But continually encourage one another as long as it is called ‘Today’ [and there is (still) an opportunity], so that none of you will be hardened* [into settled rebellion] by the deceitfulness of sin [its cleverness, delusive glamor, and sophistication].

For… partakers of Christ [sharing in all that the Messiah has for us], if only we hold firm our newborn confidence…able to enter his rest. [the Promised Land (soil)] – Because unbelief and unwillingness to trust God—hardened heart, rebellion.” (verse 19)

And *footnote for verse 12: “A wicked unbelieving heart [note: entire personality, mind, will, and emotions—where there is no pretense—the core of one’s being.”

I was inspired because of my thoughts about the ending of the last post I’ve made about the name of the site: Spiritual Soil Conservation. This title was just off the top of my head, thinking of the post I had written with theology401: Thoughtful Soil: Organizational Theory for Everything . . .

Then, because that title was so long, it had to be shortened, promisedsoil as a fitting label was made [I think a wordpress.com administrator made this up]. And I can still give God full credit here.

What can we agree the soil of the Promised Land is in the church? There must be a number of ideas here, but my heart is pointing to the objective of transforming my mind by renewal toward proving what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. (Romans 12:2)

Our minds are subject to the world for its attraction and conformity. The temptation of following the popular and the available openings. Spiritual direction is the discipline provided by holy men and women in the church that can share powerfully how to follow them in the LORD. (Philippians 2:13)

Planting seeds of wisdom sprouts the fruit of love, and rootings of gifts of the Spirit, brings forth the fruits of the Spirit. Knowledge and faith brings forth joy and peace. “Adding to your faith, virtue… ” (2Peter2:5)

More to come, certainly . . . (even today’s devotion spoke to me, since I participated in a Eucharistic communion–I understand this now.)

The LORD bless and keep you,
